AND OVER 80% WITH MENTAL/EMOTIONAL INSTABILITY.
Three Blocks Down is a family shelter dedicated to catering better experiences and helping its tenants to grow as part of the community. The shelter design focuses on providing emotional, mental, and social stability.
The name is meant to help children feel empowered of their living situation since they become afraid or ashamed of saying they live at a shelter_

The Tree That Sheltered Me_
I ran through the meadow
looking to shelter from the storm.
It all seemed lost
until a lonely tree came into view
- far on the horizon. -
The tree was alive.
Dancing with the melody of wind and rain.
A branch swirling in front
- imitated a smile -
as if enjoying the dance with his friends.
Suddenly the branch turned toward me
wanting me to join.
I ran
and he opened a path.
I settled underneath.
His ancient soul warming mine.
His arms rocked me sleep.
I slept 'til the sun shined
once again.
